Start With Practical Skills

Convenient, accessible, and self-paced online courses are designed to train adult learners at all levels in organizations, creating a pathway for deeper learning, advanced certificates, and leadership development.

For busy professionals, it can be a challenge to stay current and master new skills. Some of our most popular certificate programs offer relevant training in an online, self-paced, convenient format:

Behavioral Health in Aging: This certificate program will enrich your team’s understanding of the major mental health conditions and substance use concerns facing older adults, as well as the importance of promoting mental wellness and resilience. Learn how Boston’s Age Strong Commission provided this training for their staff.

ADRC / No Wrong Door Key Principles: Designed for professionals in Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) and the No Wrong Door System who work with older adults and individuals with disabilities. Learners gain knowledge of core issues in aging and disability, explore the range of services and supports available, and develop skills in conducting person-centered assessments. Learn how two Northern California agencies collaborated to respond to a new training mandate.

Case Management: This 5-course certificate program provides learners with an understanding of the core functions and responsibilities of case management and care coordination, an introduction to care transitions, and a review of the resources available to support care in the community. Customized Services

Beyond our existing training programs, we’re able to customize or develop new trainings to help you meet your organization’s goals and work within your budget.

Tailored Training: We offer customized blended training that combines CADER online courses and in-person training sessions. We provide facilitator guides for training leads to use that feature face-to-face exercises based on material from the online courses, covering one to three hours of in-person training with options for dividing, extending, or shortening sessions. CADER is also able to custom-build and bundle online courses together to create a learning experience tailored to your organization’s needs.

Curriculum Development & Design: We believe that adult learners respond best when training is interactive and participatory, involves feedback, and fosters a  change in attitudes, knowledge, and behavior. Our team of instructional designers, video producers, writers, and staff specializes in developing accredited online education and can create custom courses that meet the training needs of your staff.

Evaluation Services and Reporting: A key objective of our programs is to demonstrate that learners have mastered the competencies needed for effective practice. This requires professional judgment and critical thinking to translate knowledge, skills, and values into behaviors. We work with you to rigorously evaluate programs based on overall effectiveness, pre- and post-training competencies and practice skills, and long-term impacts.

Trainer Matching: For additional program expertise and support, we’ll help you identify and find the best trainer for your specific needs. We feature expert instructors who are faculty, advisors, and alumni of Boston University School of Social Work. All of our instructors are certified by a rigorous Train-the-Trainer certificate program, and are qualified to deliver training, develop course content, and design evaluations and assessments that measure and build the key competencies of your staff.

Together we can amplify the impact of your organization’s work and foster a community of support for your staff and their clients.
