Yes. We welcome instructors from beyond the BUSSW community—including former PEP instructors—to submit new proposals for webinars or seminars. You do not need to be a member of the Trainers Hub to participate in this opportunity.
If you have an idea for a webinar or workshop, we’d love to hear from you! Please share your proposal and program details here.
Yes. After completing the Train-the-Trainer Certificate Program, trainers have the opportunity to share their preferred engagement model and typical hourly rates when we meet to discuss next steps.
While trainers are welcome to indicate their preferences, it’s important to note that some agencies and organizations may have a preferred engagement model—either working directly with trainers or through BUSSW. Whenever possible, we aim to align trainer preferences with the needs of our partner organizations.
We connect trainers with agencies and organizations in the health and social services fields when new training opportunities arise. Currently, there are two models for how these training engagements are structured:
1. Direct Engagement:
Some organizations prefer to work directly with a trainer, independent of BUSSW. In this case, we serve as the bridge connecting you and the organization, and all fees and arrangements are handled directly between you and the organization.
2. BUSSW-Facilitated Engagement:
Other organizations choose to work through BUSSW, contracting with us to coordinate the training. In this model, the organization pays a service fee to BU, and BUSSW manages the logistics and pays the trainer from this contract.
Both approaches provide valuable opportunities for trainers to share their expertise and expand their professional reach through The Network for Professional Education.
Most trainers who complete our Train-the-Trainer Certificate Program already have some prior training experience. The program is designed to ensure that all trainers share a baseline level of competency in three key areas:
1. Training delivery
2. Curriculum development
3. Assessment and evaluation
Even experienced trainers often find this course to be a valuable refresher that reinforces best practices and enhances their instructional skills.
By completing the program, seasoned trainers also gain the opportunity to expand their training business, partner with BUSSW clients, agencies, and organizations on new training engagements, and connect with peers through our growing community of practice.
By joining the Trainers Hub, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Collaborate with new client organizations
• Share your expertise in social work and related fields
• Develop and deliver innovative training programs
• Engage with a community of practice dedicated to professional growth
• Partner with the Boston University School of Social Work to expand your reach and impact
You can learn more about the full range of benefits here.
The Trainers Hub is open to all members of the BU community, including:

If you’re interested in joining, you can register for our Train-the-Trainer Certificate Program through the Learning Catalog. This self-paced, online course can be completed in approximately 3 hours, provides 3 CE credits, and awards a certificate from the Boston University School of Social Work.

Yes. Blackboard Ultra courses are designed to be screen reader accessible, ensuring an inclusive learning experience for all learners. For the best experience with CADER courses and certificate programs, we recommend using one of the following free screen readers:
• NVDA– available for download on PCs
• VoiceOver – built into Mac devices
While CADER courses are compatible with screen readers, learners who need additional support are encouraged to contact the BU Office of Disability & Access for assistance. Please note that Boston University does not provide technical support for specific screen reader software. If you experience issues with your screen reader, please reach out directly to the screen reader’s technical support team.
Registered CADER learners can also find detailed information about accessibility within the Start Here module in their Blackboard course.
